Tá Sráid Áine ar cheann de na sráideanna is sine sa chathair. ‘Back street’ a chuireadh air i dtosach (Cuireadh ‘Front Street’ ar High Street) agus ansin Sraid an Droichid mar gheall gur ndeachaigh sé amach ar an droichid san am sin ach faoi 1798 bhí clú ar mar Shráid Áine go forleathan. Bhí beairic lonnaithe anseo fosta, agus anseo a cuireadh cuid de ceannairí an eirí amach 1798, Anraí Seoigh ina measc.

Ann Street is one of Belfast’s oldest streets. It was originally called ‘Back Street’ and then ‘Bridge Street’ because it lead out to the bridge back then. However by 1798 it was Widley known as Ann Street. There was also a barracks situated on Ann Street, some of the leaders of the 1798 rebellion were imprisoned here, Henry Joy included.
