One of Belfast’s oldest surviving public houses, dating back to around 1780, Kelly Cellars is said to be a close association with the United Irishmen, who are alleged with plotting rebellion within its walls. Belfast folklore recounts how Henry Joy McCracken was a regular himself, using the pub (or under the bar to be exact!) in escaping the military who were attempting to capture him.
