Áit thar a bheith clúiteach í Sugar House Entry, is anseo a bhí an ‘Franklin in’ teach tabhairne Peggy agus James Barclay. Ainmníodh an teach tabhairne i ndiaidh Benjamin Franklin, reabhlóidí de chuid Mheiriceá agus bhí pictiúr do le feiceáil ar an bhalla. Tá sé ráite ag go leor daoine gurb í seo an áit a raibh an chéad chruinniú ag Cumann na nÉireannach Aontaithe i samhain 1791. Tá sé cinnte gur bhual an Cumann Muddlers anseo go rialta, fronta Chumann na nÉireannach Aontaithe.

Sugar House Entry is one of the most prominent spots when discussing the United Irishmen. ‘Franklin in’ or Petty Barclay’s tavern was situated here. The tavern was named after American revolutionary Benjamin Franklin and his portrait was seen hung from the tavern’s walls. It is said that the first meeting of the United Irishmen was held here in October 1791. It is certain however that the Muddlers club met here regularly, a front for the United Irishmen.
